rolly'sWhen you walk through the doors of Rolly’s Baby Boutique you immediately feel transported to a happy place. The walls are painted bright, cheery colors, the little clothes and shoes for sale bring a smile to your face, the nursery furniture has an almost immediate calming effect, and on most visits you’ll find children playing in the toy area while their moms and grandmothers shop. For over thirty years, Rolly’s has been the place to shop for moms-to-be and new parents. For many of today’s shoppers, walking in the store brings back happy memories of their own shopping trips with mom when they were little.

Rolly’s Baby Boutique sets itself apart by providing a special focus on items for little ones in all facets of life, from clothes to toys and furniture. The original concept was created by Rolanda Frazier, whose nickname became the name of the store. Today, owner Melanie Barbee proudly continues to build on Rolly’s strong brand and dedication to unique items and exceptional personal service.

“We focus on brands that let kids be kids,” Melanie says. “Too often people dress children like miniature adults. We pride ourselves on offering clothes that keep children looking young. Bubbles, shortalls, and contemporary yet classic dresses are just some of the styles you’ll find at Rolly’s.”

Brands such as The Beaufort Bonnet Company and Feltman Brothers are on display at Rolly’s, names well known for classic elegance that epitomize southern traditions. And it’s not just the clothes, all of the items are carefully chosen for quality and beauty as well. “We understand that when you’re buying furniture for the nursery you want something that is quality and will last multiple children,” Melanie says. “In fact, we often have women come in who tell us they purchased furniture for their nursery here at Rolly’s and now are using it for their grandchildren.

Personal service is a hallmark of shopping at Rolly’s Baby Boutique, whether that’s working on a registry with a new mom-to-be, trying on shoes for baby, finding just the right crib or helping pick out the perfect baby shower gift. With unique items and beautiful gift wrapping, you know when you purchase a gift at Rolly’s yours is sure to stand out and be remembered.

That personal touch extends beyond the service given to customers. Melanie hand picks each item for sale at Rolly’s, traveling to trade shows all across the United States from New York to Las Vegas. “It’s important to me to touch and feel the items myself, not to just trust a picture in a book,” Melanie says. “I want to feel the softness and be sure of the quality before I offer it to our customers at Rolly’s, and we try really hard to seek out things made in America as well.”

Trade shows also give Melanie the chance to see new items and meet the people behind the brand. One that she is excited to start carrying is Thimble, a new brand created by a Harvard graduate who has built a business from qualified seamstresses who work from home. This allows moms and grandmothers to work while having the flexibility to watch their children and be there for all those important milestones.

Rolly’s is built around putting family first, and it shows in the care given to choosing the store’s items for sale and the personal attention paid to each customer. Whether you’re shopping for your own children, your grandchildren, or family and friends, shopping for a baby is a happy time. Rolly’s invites you to share that time with them.As we like to say at Rolly’s, ‘shopping here is like a nursery rhyme,’” Melanie says.
